Lts. Gerry Currie and Ted Doucet of 2 Cdn Gds Recce Pl on AMF(L) exercise in Denmark in late-Sep/early-Oct. The significance is that we were out of the country on that exercise when the commanding officer, Lt.-Col. Ron Cheriton, received the CANFORGEN announcing that the regiment, along with the QORofC, RHC and 8CH, were to be "reduced to NIL strength and placed on the supplementary order of battle." Needless to say, the trip back to Canada was pretty somber and we were all a little resentful that our service was being recognized by consignment to the scrap heap.
